BP moet schildpadden beter beschermen

Olieconcern riskeert zeldzame zeedieren te verbranden bij bestrijding olieramp

De Amerikaanse kustwacht en BP hebben vrijdag een schikking getroffen met milieuorganisaties over een betere bescherming van zeeschildpadden die kunnen verbranden tijdens de bestrijding van de olielekkages in de Golf van Mexico.

BP gebruikt vuur om het verlies van olie tegen te gaan, maar riskeert dan om de zeldzame schildpadden in het toch al zwaar getroffen natuurgebied te verbranden.

Drie milieugroeperingen (Center for Biological Diversity, Turtle Island Restoration Network en Animal Defense League) hadden BP woensdag aangeklaagd bij het federale hof in New Orleans. Hun klacht is dat de bestrijders van het olie-verlies inadequate maatregelen treffen bij het aansteken van 'gecontroleerde branden'.

    The US Government needs to get balls. BP is cooking , frying. choking,
    destroying and killing every living creatures in the Gulf . Why the big concern about turtles tell you why to make you and me think that turtles are the only creatures being totaly eliminated.

    Of course will never happen US government is directly responsible for this disaster by issuing over 6500 permits for oil leases in the Gulf
    3500 of which deep wells

    The trillion of dollars of lease payments received are needed to finance their war hungry appetite. Meanwhile back at the range production of new cars shows improvement India and China will double car sales in the next 15 years. OH happy days a coming

    They need to put BP permanent out of business by implementing the $ 1000.00 per barrel environment fine that they have the power to do. Ans that is called OH keep on dreaming

    Wat doet BP niet, gek genoeg kijk ik er niet van op. Het zal nog veel gekker worden. Ik weet niet wat daar allemaal leeft, ik weet wel dat het BP helemaal niets kan schelen. Ook al steriliseren ze de hele Golf van Mexico, ze geven er niets om, het gaat alleen maar om geld.
